![]() When we first moved to NYC a decade ago, I was not shy about my dreams. I kept saying, "Broadway by 30." Instead, my 30th was held at my in-laws where we had moved to thanks to the great pause button that was COVID. I was very lucky when I first arrived; I got reps, booked A Year with Frog and Toad at Casa Manana with a subsequent national tour, and I felt on top of the world. Once back from tour, I kept working at auditioning with little to show for it. The world didn't know what to do with a plus-sized actor with range. I know this is a career filled with rejections, but I often feel like it is a louder "no" for the larger folks. After my wonderful two years at Circle in the Square Theatre School, I went back to my full-time job: auditions. I also went back to my full-time feeling of rejection. This January, a shift began. I had a meeting with the amazing PK Parks at Crystal Ship Artists who was shocked that I was currently neither repped nor booking. She wanted to fix both of those things. I began freelancing with her, and the shift felt stronger. This past week, I signed my contract for my first booking in 8 years. I will play Lazar Wolf and cover Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof at Argyle Theatre in Babylon, NY. This is the first pebble that will grow and grow into an immense snowball - my career has finally moved into gear. I cannot say enough how much gratitude I have to everyone who has been with me on this wild journey. I am honored to have such support in my corner. Please come and join us if you can. Tickets and information at https://www.argyletheatre.com/fiddlerontheroof. We run April 24 - June 15. Here is to more to come!
