Tonight, we close one of my favorite shows. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at St. Croix Festival Theatre will have its final performance in just a few hours.
There are a few reasons why I will greatly miss this show. First off, it is such a fun and funny production to perform. The book and music for this show have become some of the bedrock for musical comedy and, thanks to Mr. Sondheim, for musical theatre in general. Secondly, the company of actors I have worked with this summer are some of the best talents I've had the honor to act and bow next to. I'm really gonna miss you guys. Thirdly, the community here in St. Crox Falls, WI, is so very supportive of the work that we do at the theatre. It is proof that the arts will only thrive where there is a passion for it. Finally, having the honor of playing Pseudolus has been truly a blessing. Not only has the show given me one hell of a workout every night, but it is also one of the best roles in the theatre world. I am honored and humbled to have been welcomed to this theatre and this community. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum closes tonight at 7:30...and we're almost sold out! Let's have one more Comedy Tonight!

Thank you so much, Joseph, for your AMAZING performance as Pseudolus! At the final show tonight, a woman sitting next to me said, "We are bound to see that young man on Broadway someday. He is outstanding!". I agreed with her, of course.
